Smith wants protection for Grealish

Aston Villa new manager Dean Smith wants the referees to protect his best player Jack Grealish more. He said that the player suffers numerous tactical fouls during games and it is becoming increasingly difficult for him to play in this situation.

The new Aston Villa coach said that opposing teams do not know how to stop him and have to resort to fouls and this may lead injury.

Yannick Bolasie keen on pushing Aston Villa to promotion

Yannick Bolasie has said that he is keen to help Aston Villa secure promotion to the Premier League, now that he has joined the club on a season-long loan. The Congolese footballer fell out-of-favour under new Everton boss Marco Silva during the summer and he has now been offered the chance to revive his career with the Villains.

In a report covered by Villa’s official website, Bolasie spoke about the stature of the west Midlands outfit and indicated that he would give his best to help the team return to the English top-flight, he said: “My main aim here is to get this club promoted. A club of this stature has to be in the Premier League. I looked around both Villa Park and the training ground, and me and my family just said, ‘wow’. It’s Premier League everywhere you look. I’m here to make myself smile again and use all my ability to try and help the team. It’s great to be here.”

Grealish to Spurs

There are media reports that Tottenham Hotspurs are interested to sign Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish.  The player who plays for the England Under-21 national team has impressed last season and is set to attract a number of bids from the Premier League.

Tottenham Hotspurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is believed to be interested in the player and has told his chairman that he wants this player to join his team next season.

Terry Is Lampard’s Worst Nightmare In Goalkeeping

Terry had a secret love of going in goal, Chelsea’s all-time record scorer tells FourFourTwo while also revealing the most “outstanding” footballer he ever played with. Blues icon Lampard has been giving us the lowdown on his team-mates in a new FourFourTwo video and from the latest to the greatest. As you might expect, Lampard plumps for his long-term captain, leader, legend in several categories.

“John would go in goal and we’d all smash balls at him for 15 minutes before training started… He was actually pretty good! I’m mentioning John too much,” he chuckles as he picks out JT for hardest trainer and toughest tackler but also admits his old mucker loved playing in goal. However, even Lamps’s praise doesn’t stretch to calling Terry his most talented team-mate. That honour he saves for the magical Eden Hazard. High praise for the boy Eden considering some of the players Lampard has lined up with.

ASTON VILLA MAN FLYING HIGH IN AUSTRALIA

Aston Villa player Ross McCormack is flying high in Australia. The Villa misfit seems to be hacking it in the faraway nation. He recently scored his 13th goal in the Australian soccer league while in action for Melbourne City.

City played Central Coast Mariners over the weekend in the A-League. The game ended 2-2 as City came from behind to force a draw. McCormack was on target yet again, making the record for the fastest player to reach the 13-goal mark in the history of the A-League.

STEVE BRUCE LOOKING FOR A KEEPER

Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce said that he is desperate to sign goalkeeper Sam Johnstone who is currently on loan from Manchester United on a permanent basis. Sam Johnstone is currently in his second season with Aston Villa, and Bruce has revealed that he wants him to stay in the long run.

 

 

Steve Bruce said that Sam Johnstone is a great goalkeeper and that there is no doubt that he can play at the highest level. He feels however that there are currently some good goalkeepers at Manchester United and that the young player will have some problem breaking into the first team there.

Steve Bruce gives his thanks to Tottenham Hotspur

One of Aston Villa´s summer arrivals is the 20 year old English midfielder Josh Onomah who completed his move from Tottenham Hotspur over to Villa Park on a season loan deal.


The youngster made his very 1st start as a player of Aston Villa during the Curabao Cup match between his club and Colchester United.

Josh Onomoah made an impressive performance during that game as he appeared to be comfortable on the ball and also managed to read as well as make plays on various occasions.

ASTON VILLA GET TWO NEW PLAYERS

Aston Villa have continued with adding more experienced players to the team this summer.


The Championship side signed Stoke City midfielder Glenn Whelan and then agreed terms with free agent Christopher Samba.

The 33-year old Whelan agreed to a two year deal. He has 336 caps for Stoke and has featured 81 times for the Republic of Ireland. The player joined the Potters from Sheffield Wednesday in January 2008 for £500,000. He scored six times in his stay there, including the famous 90-minute equalizer at Villa Park in 2009.

Samba, 33, left his Greek employers Panathinaikos earlier this year. He spent his pre-season with the club before agreeing to a year deal. He has experience playing for Blackburn and Queen Park Rangers. He moved to England to play for the Rovers from Hertha Berlin in 2007. He netted 18 times in 186 games for Blackburn. Aston Villa keen on reunion with Hull City Defender

Aston Villa have been linked with a potential move for Hull City’s Ahmed Elmohamady following the Tigers’ relegation from the top flight.


The Egypt international previously plyed his trade under Bruce at the KCOM Stadium before the latter switched clubs due to a disagreement over the transfer plans last summer.Elmohamady, who currently has two years left on his contract, admitted in February that he was gutted by the Englishman’s exit, but wishes him well on his fresh challenge at Villa Park.

“He’s a big manager, one of the most experienced in England, and it was very, very disappointing when he left,” he told The Guardian.

“The fans were disappointed, the players were disappointed, but it was to do with the board and you can’t do anything with it. Aston Villa is slowly recovering from their mediocre start of the season

Aston Villa kicked off their 2016-17 English League Championship campaign by suffering 3 defeats, 7 draws and only 1 victory from their 11 initial league matches.


It’s because of this slow start of the season that Aston Villa was drowning in the bottom spots of the 2nd tier English League.
